“ARABIC SECRET” AWARDED IN GREECE

Julia Groszek's documentary was recognized as the best European film of the Aegean Docs festival.

Aegean Docs International Documentary Film Festival is entirely devoted to documentary cinema. The organizers try to invite films from all over the world to the program, as well as create a friendly space for representatives of the industry. The viewers of the Greek islands, where the festival is held, will had a chance to take part in discussion panels, film retrospectives and masterclasses with recognized documentary authors.

One of the awards at the festival went to Julia Groszek for the film "Arabic Secret". The protagonist of the documentary is Kamil, who wants to meet his father, Ilham Al Madfai, the creator of Arabic folk music and a star in the Middle East. Father and son never saw each other. Director Julia Groszek invites viewers to observe Kamil's journey and to reflect on the meaning of life and the need to find one's roots.
