Szczecin European Film Festival, organised on Polish-German border by Polish-German team, came to an end on 6 October. The jury of the Polish Competition gave the The First Award of the President of Szczecin for the best film in the Polish competition that opens the documentary genre to new perspectives to the film “Echoes Course” by Maja Wolińska and Joan Leandre. This contemplative documentary was awarded for “courageous use of the notion of emptiness both at the level of image as well as content, and making the viewer feel particular emotions.“

The Second Award of the Polish Competition went to the documentary by Monika Pawluczuk "When I am a Bird." According to the justification of the verdict, the jury appreciated the film for “insightfullly showing the inner experiences and feelings of people who are usually presented as tourist attraction.
