“JOANNA” GETS THE AUDIENCE AWARD AT THE 30TH WARSAW FILM FESTIVAL

The anniversary 30th edition of Warsaw Film Festival ended last Sunday, 19 October. The festival audience appreciated the documentary by Aneta Kopacz, “Joanna,” which won the Audience Award in the short film category.

This weekend, a new award joined a collection of 20 other awards won by the documentary “Joanna” by Aneta Kopacz. The film was appreciated by the viewers of the 30th Warsaw Film Festival. As a result “Joanna” won Audience Award in the short film category. It is worth mentioning that “Joanna” is very well received by the audience around the world - the documentary won the audience awards at the Medium-Length Film Festival in Brive, France, and at the Docudays UA festival in Ukraine.

The anniversary 30th edition of Warsaw Film Festival was held from 10 to 19 October, in Kinoteka and Multikino Złote Tarasy. In the programme of the Polish Short Film Panorama section, in addition to “Joanna,” the following films participated: “House on its head” by Adam Palenta, “To fly or not to fly” by Aniela Gabryel, “A Visit” by Matej Bobrik and “Starting Point” by Michał Szcześniak. In the Documentary Competition, Poland was represented by the following films: “The Authors” by Janusz Mrozowski, “Dancing Before The Enemy: How a teenage boy fooled the Nazis and lived” by Adam Bardach, “Totart” by Bartosz Paduch, and “Gottland” by Vera Čakányova, Petra  Hátle, Rozalie Kohoutova, Lukáš Kokeš, Radovan Síbrt and Klára Tasovska. It is worth mentioning that the films “Totart” and “The Authors” were also the audience’s favourites. The former got the fourth place in the Audience Poll in the documentary film category, the latter - fifth place.
