At the Opening Gala, on 7 October 2014, the awards were given to the best of them. In the documentary film category, the jury decided to give the Hollywood Eagle Documentary Award to the film “A Diary of A Journey” by Piotr Stasik.

The protagonists of “A Diary of A Journey” - Tadeusz Rolke, the elderly master of Polish photography, and fifteen-year-old Michał are not connected only by the typical relationship of a teacher and a student. They travel throughout Poland together in order to make portraits of the residents of small towns, and the darkroom in the camper allows them to immediately develop photos and give them to the people who accidentally posed for these photos. For the boy, it is a wonderful opportunity to discover the secrets of traditional photography. For both protagonists - a chance to experience friendship.

Polish Film Festival in Los Angeles is organised by Polish-American Film Society. The members of the Society intend to promote Polish culture and cinematography in the United States. Vladek Juszkiewicz is the festival’s founder and director.
