WORLD PREMIERE OF “THE DOG HILL” AT VISION DU REEL
“The Dog Hill”, a film by Grzegorz Zariczny, produced by Andrzej Wajda Film School, had its world premiere during this year’s festival Vision du Reel in Nyon, Switzerland.
“The Dog Hill” tells the story of four shepherds who spend over half a year far away from civilization, living in a mountain hut, grazing and milking sheep. The work brings them closer to each other, makes them open their hearts and discuss serious things. Though they are of different ages and in different phases of life, one topic especially unites them: women. The film was made within the frames of Documentary Course in Wajda Film School.At the Swiss festival the film had been shown in the section “Regards Neufs”, within which the achievements of young directors are shown. This is the first opportunity for these directors to present their films to a wide international audience and to the professionals.
Grzegorz Zariczny is a graduate of AndrzejWajda Film School’s documentary course; at present he is the student of Krzysztof Kieślowski Radio and Television Faculty at the University of Silesia. Apart from “The Dog Hill”, he is the author of feature and documentary etudes.
This year’s sixteenth edition of the international festival Vision du Reel will take place from 15-21 April in Nyon, Switzerland. The festival is one of the most prestigious documentary film festivals in Europe. Last year, in the section “Regards Neufs” the Oscar-nominated “Rabbit a la Berlin” by Bartek Konopka had its international premiere.
