AWARD FOR MICHAŁ JÓŹWIAK

During the closing ceremony of the DOCUDAYS UA International Documentary Film about Human Rights Festival in Kiev MichałJóźwiak received an award for the film “Football Father”.

This year’s, seventh edition of DOCUDAYS UA abounded in films of diverse content and form, though having one common denominator – the motif of human rights. 31 documentaries competed for the awards. They were, among others, from Great Britain, Denmark, Finland, and Israel. The viewers of the festival appreciated the film “Football Father” by Michał Jóźwiak, honouring him with the Audience’s Award.

Made within the frames of Documentary Course in Andrzej Wajda Film School, the film by Michał Jóźwiak presents the story of Marcin – a sightless masseur who works in Lodz football club. The protagonist brings up several-year-old son, and, in spite of many difficulties, tries to show the adult world to the boy.

The documentary “Football father” has won appreciation at many festivals, Polish as well as international, among others, at Krakow Film Festival, International Film Festival “Etiuda& Anime” as well as “The Way We Live”” in Munich.
