ANASY DOCUMENTARY AWARDS NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED

Anasy Documentary Awards, that is, an event promoting and honouring only documentary films, will take place from 25 April till 9 May in Abu Dahbi. Three Polish documentaries have been qualified to the competition.

Anasy Documentary Awards is one of the largest film events in the Arabic world, specializing in documentary cinema. The festival’s aim is not only promoting the documentary as a valuable film genre with artistic qualities, but also awarding this kind of films. That is why Anasy Documentary Awards offers a wide range of awards – apart from the first and most important laurels, the films can compete for the best screenplay award, the best photography awards, the best film about children, or for the film with a special message. The total of award money amounts to 1, 5 million dirhamas (approximately 275.000 euro).

During this year’s edition, which will take place from 25 April to 9 May, three Polish documentary films will compete. “Chemo” by Paweł Łoziński and “Goldfish” by Tomasz Wolski will take part in the main competition, while “Kites” by Beata Dzianowicz has been nominated to the competition dedicated to child’s rights.
