POLISH FILMS IN SPECIAL SECTIONS AT IDFA

We know the names of the first films that will appear this year at IDFA. In the special sections we will see films from acknowledged Polish directors: Krzysztof Kieślowski and Marcel and Paweł Łoziński.

IDFA Festival in Amsterdam, one of the most important documentary film festivals in Europe, slowly announces its program. We still need to wait for the presentations of the films in the competition, but for now we already know the shape of some of the section outside of the competition.

"Father and Son" by Paweł Łoziński and "Father and Son on a Journey" by Marcel Łoziński will be presented in the special "Me" program. The program focuses on personal and autobiographical documentary films. This selection comprises a number of forms of presentation through which the filmmakers investigate their own lives, telling at times deeply rooted personal stories and engaging in an artistic exploration.

This year a guest of honour at IDFA will be Helena Třeštíková. Apart from the retrospective of her films the festival audience will also see her Top 10. Each year main guest chooses ten documentary films made by other filmmakers, which he or she finds important and inspiring. At Helena Třeštíkova's list we can find "First Love" by Krzysztof Kieślowski.

More details about the special sections can be found on the IDFA Festival's website. Any time now the festival will announce the competition sections program where we will certainly find Polish productions.
