POLISH PROJECTS AT EAST DOC PLATFORM 2016

The list of projects qualified for the East European Forum - an industry event dedicated to supporting the production of documentary films at various stages of production - was announced. In each of three programmes: East European Forum, Project Market, and Doc Tank, there are Polish projects.

East Doc Platform is an industry event, dedicated to documentary film, organised by the Institute of Documentary Film in Prague, accompanying the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.

The fifth edition of the event is held from 7-13 March, 2016. During the event, the East Doc Platform Award is given, amounting to 7500 Euro. It will go to the best project at the development stage from among all participating in East Doc Platform.

This year, six Polish projects qualified for the events held within the frames of East Doc Platform.

EAST EUROPEAN FORUM

East European Forum is an event created for producers who are working on projects at the development or production stage and are looking for a source of financing. Within the frames of East European Forum, a five-day workshops will be held, as well as pitching, one-to-one meetings and discussions. 

To this year's edition, 9 projects are invited, selected from among over 100 submissions. Among the selected productions, there is the film "Pollywood," directed by Paweł Ferdek. The film will be a historical journey of the director in the footsteps of the founders of Hollywood - Jews coming from Polish territories: Samuel Goldwyn or Warner Brothers. During the pitching, project of Marta Prus's film "Over the limit" will be also shown. She has been developing the film, together with the producer, Maciej Kubicki from Telemark, since the last year's Ex Oriente workshop.

PROJECT MARKET

Project Market is a two-day film market, created in order to facilitate contact between documentary film-makers and film festivals, television channels, film funds, distribution companies etc. They are held on the basis of one-to-one meetings, scheduled before the event, and they are open to film projects at every stage of film-making.

This year, Project Market is held from 10 to 11 March, and 16 projects are invited to participate in it, including three which are Polish productions or co-productions. In Prague, Jakub Piątek appears with his film "A Film for my Mum," and Łukasz Borowski with the documentary film "Runners."

DOC TANK

Doc Tank is a two-day consultation and one day of one-to-one meetings for film-makers of documentary films concerned with social-political issues, who want to implement cross-media projects. This year, the Doc Tank workshops are held from 9-11 March, and only 7 projects will participate, but as many as two of them are Polish films.

The films invited to this year's edition of the Doc Tank programme include the interactive project by Małgorzata Jurko and Katarzyna Boratyn, " Line 9" and "The Future of Forever" by Ana Brzezińska.
