"OVER THE LIMIT" AT HOT DOCS FORUM

We already know the titles of the projects which qualified for this year's edition of Hot Docs Forum. Among the productions, which will be shown in Canada, there is the project by Marta Prus, "Over the limit."

This year's edition of the Hot Docs festival takes part from 28 April to 8 May. Within the frames of the festival, a number of industry events will be held, one of which is Hot Docs Forum, which will last two days: May 3 and 4. The forum is the meeting place for producers, commissioning editors, buyers, financing institutions, representatives of film funds and other professionals dealing with documentary film. The producers have the chance to present projects which are at various stages of film-making and find co-producers and sources of financing. Every year, Hot Docs Forum is visited by approximately two hundred representatives of television channels, funds and film festivals from Europe, Asia and the Americas. During two days of the Forum, they have the opportunity to watch presentations of about twenty selected projects. Each presentation last 15 minutes, 7 minutes out of which are for people representing the project, whereas the remaining 7 minutes - for the answer of the decision-making people.

This year, the project of the film "Over the limit," directed by Marta Prus, will be shown at Hot Docs Forum. "Over the limit" is an intimate portrait of the sportswoman Margarita Mamun. The film documents the crucial year in her life, from the World Cup in 2015 to the Olympic Games in 2016. The gymnast stands the most important chance in her life, to become an Olympic champion, but in order to achieve it, she has to compete against her best friend from the same club, Yana Kudryavtseva.

Last year, Polish-British project "Reporter" by Magdalena Szymków participated in Hot Docs Forum, and in 2013 "Rocket Man" produced by Moma Film Foundation and the company Digital Sputnik was presented during the pitching. It is worthwhile to remind that in 2013, a delegation of Polish producers participated in Hot Docs Forum, dedicated to documentary film industry, among them, representatives of production companies, including Staroń Films, Wajda Studio, Hanna Polak Films, Metro Films, Endorfina Studio, Otter Films and Krakow Film Foundation.
