JAN NASZEWSKI’S “EXAM” WINS THE AUDIENCE AWARD AT SEDICICORTO FILM FESTIVAL IN ITALY

Jan Naszewski’s film “Exam”, screened in the ‘Movie’ short film competition at the Italian SediciCorto Forli International Film Festival, has returned to Poland with the Audience Award. The festival’s 23rd edition took place from 2 to 11 October in Forli, in northeastern Italy.

Founded in 2004, the SediciCorto Forli International Film Festival is one of Italy’s leading festivals dedicated to short films. Its programme focuses on the work of young filmmakers from Italy and abroad, while also attracting a large audience of children and youth. The festival is also part of a network of European short film festivals through the EuroShorts project.

This year, audiences chose “Exam” for the award. The prize was collected in Forli by the film’s director, screenwriter and producer, Jan Naszewski, and Agnieszka Matan – co-screenwriter and one of the film’s lead actors, who were both present at the festival.

“Exam” tells the story of Gosia and Jarek. She is an eccentric actress at a children’s theatre, while he is a workaholic veterinarian. They are a sensitive, loving couple in their thirties who, despite their feelings for each other, have to attend couples therapy. One day, they are invited to take part in an examination session during which they must pretend to be the perfect couple while keeping their hidden frustrations under control.

The film is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and distributed by KFF Sales.
