POLISH PROJECTS AT EAST DOC PLATFORM 2021

The next edition of East Doc Platform, an industry event dedicated to supporting the production of documentary films at various stages of completion, will be held from 6 to 17 March. The group of selected projects also includes ones from Poland. Unfortunately, this year's edition will be held online due to the pandemic.

East Doc Platform is an industry event devoted to documentary filmmaking accompanying the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival and organised by the Institute of Documentary Film in Prague.

The 10th edition of the event will take place on 6-17 March 2021. The event sees numerous prizes awarded to best projects still in production selected from among all those participating in East Doc Platform.

This year, several Polish production and co-productions have also qualified for the events taking place as part of East Doc Platform. East Doc Forum is an event for producers attached to projects still in development or production stage and seeking sources of financing. 

Only 10 projects were invited to this year's edition. There are three projects from Poland among those selected – Expedition 49” directed by Alisa Kovalenko, The Trans Syrian Express” by Alina Rudnitskaya, and Konrad Szołajski's Waitersgate”.

East Doc Market is a two-day event designed to aid documentary filmmakers in contacting decision makers at film festivals, TV stations, film funds, distribution companies, etc. It is held on the basis of pre-arranged one-to-one meetings and are open to film projects at every stage of production.

This year, also just 10 projects were invited to participate in East Doc Market, including two from Poland – “Workcenter” by Aniela Astrid Gabryel and “The Ultimate Joker” by Krzysztof Dzieciołowski.

In turn, the section devoted to interactive productions – East Doc Interactive 2021 – also features a Polish project. “SELF Concept” was created by Tadeusz Chudy.
