POLISH PRODUCTIONS IN THE JI.HLAVA PROGRAM

The program of this year's Jihlava festival has just been announced. Among the films invited to the competition and non-competition sections, there were also those produced or co-produced by Poles.

Ji.hlava International Film Festival is one of the largest documentary film festivals in Eastern and Central Europe. Every year, Czech Jihlava is visited by numerous representatives of the industry and viewers craving for interesting cinema. This year's edition of the festival will be held online from October 27 to November 8.

In the Opus Bonum competition section, viewers will find a Czech-Polish-Slovak production of "Once Upon A Time In Poland" by Vít Klusák and Filip Remund. On the other hand, in the Between the Seas section, the jury will be able to award the documentary "Between us" directed by Dorota Proba, which tells about male-female relationships.

In the same section as Dorota Proba's film there is another Polish co-production - "Refugees Are Welcome Here" directed by Tomáš Raf. The film was is an international projects between Slovaks, Poles, Germans, Greeks, Croats, Czechs, Slovenes, Hungarians, Austrians and Serbs.

"The Last Knights of the Right Side" directed by Michał Edelman has been invited to the Student Competition between the Seas. The documentary follows the Lodz ONR brigade - from propaganda events with a mandatory barbecue, through attempts to disrupt the Equality March in Radomsko, to the culminating march through the streets of Warsaw during the Independence Day in 2019.

The non-competitive sections also included several domestic productions. Eliza Kubarska will show her new film. “The Wall of Shadows” is included in the Constellations line-up.
