TWO POLISH PROJECTS AT DOK CO-PRO MARKET

We already know the list of projects that qualified for this year's edition of the DOK Co-Pro Market held as part of the DOK Leipzig festival. Among the selected titles, there are as many as two from Poland, and they are "Gypsy Gadji" directed by Dasa Raimanowa and "I Want it All" by Katarzyna Wiśniewska.

This year, the DOK Leipzig festival is planned from October 26 to November 1 in a hybrid form. It is one of the largest and most important documentary film festivals in Europe, which, like many events of this type, has a wide offer of meetings, workshops and conferences prepared for professionals from the documentary industry. The organizers of the festival are closely monitoring the current pandemic situation and at this stage they decided to move the DOK Co-Pro Market to the network.

DOK Co-Pro Market are 2 days of sessions of meetings aimed at encouraging producers to establish cooperation and international co-productions and to help them obtain sources of financing. In addition to the 'one-to-one' meetings, the Co-Pro Market program also includes joint debates and case studies devoted to the opportunities and challenges related to the international co-production market.

Two Polish projects were invited to participate in this year's DOK Co-Pro Market. The first of them, "Gypsy Gadji", directed by Dasa Raimanowa, and produced by Rafał Sakowski from Iris Media, tells the story of a 30-year-old Roksana. The woman is half Polish and half Roma. She might be the perfect link between these cultures, but she actually struggles to find a place in just one of them. The document previously received the DOK Leipzig Special Mention for the project presented at this year's Docs to Start pitching.

In turn, "I Want it All" by Katarzyna Wiśniewska is the story of 10-year-old Yara. The girl has already won a boxing championship and the crown of little Miss Belgium. It is not her custom to loose. Failure, however, is part of a bitter transition into adulthood. The producer of the documentary is Haka Films.

Both projects were developed at DOC LAB POLAND and presented at pitching sessions held during the KFF Industry pitching at the Krakow Film Festival.
