ŁUKASZ DŁUGOŁĘCKI IN THE EMERGING PRODUCERS PROGRAMME

The Emerging Producers is a programme focusing on education and promotion, dedicated to talented documentary film producers from the European Union countries, which accompanies the festival in Jihlava. This year, Polish producer Łukasz Długołęcki will participate in it.

The aim of the project is to integrate the new generation of producers with professionals who have been working for many years in different fields of the film industry, which is to bear fruit in the future and result in European documentary film co-productions. The organisers want to create a friendly environment, enabling diverse and creative projects to confront the specialists at film markets.

Producers who apply for the programme should be present at the local film market for a couple of years and have at least one completed film, which was distributed in cinemas or screened at festivals. Candidates also have to have the ambition to create productions for European audience in co-operation with other companies from the European Union.

Łukasz Długołęcki was born in Lodz in 1989. At the Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź, he produced and co-produced several dozen student films, both feature films as well as documentary films. He made his first short film in 2011. He is the founder of the company NUR. In 2018, he produced the documentary film "In Touch," shown at the international film festivals around the world and awarded the IDFA in the Netherlands and Skjaldborg in Iceland.
