POLISH DOCUMENTARY FILMS AT FESTIVALS IN SEPTEMBER

Though it is still sunny outside, the holidays are slowly drawing to an end, and Polish documentary films return to the festival rhythm. In September, twelve documentary films will be shown at screenings abroad.

In August, started the short film festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where the animated documentary film by Marcin Podolec, "A Documentary Film" was invited to the competition, and a couple of days later, Odense Film Festival started in Denmark, where "Object" by Paulina Skibińska was shown.

At the beginning of September, the independent film festival Filmmixer is held in Slovakia, where the audience will watch the short documentary film by Teresa Czepiec "Super Unit." The film will also participate in the competition at Inte Cinema Festival in Italy.

Whereas in Russia, the audience of the festival Flahertiana will watch the film "The Dybbuk. A Tale of Wandering Souls"  by Krzysztof Kopczyński. The documentary film will also be shown in Romania at Astra Film Festival. There, the film "Alisa in Warland" by Alisa Kovalenko and Lubova Durakova will be shown, too.

In the second half of the month, the film "The Culture Cultivator" by Anna Urbańczyk will have its international première at the International Short Film Festival Drama in Greece, and a couple days later, in South Korea, at DMZDocs, the documentary film "Football Brothers" by Marcin Filipowicz will be shown, as well as the Polish-Icelandic co-production "Grace of God" by Kristján Loðmfjörð. Also in South Korea, but at a different festival, documentary films about mountains will take part in the competition – "Jurek" by Paweł Wysoczański and "The Place" by Julia Popławska. These films will be shown at Ulju Mountain Film Festival.

At the end of the month, Polish documentary films will also be shown in Hungary. The films "Unstoppables" by Bartosz M. Kowalski and "Brothers" by Wojciech Staroń are invited to the programme of Budapest International Documentary Festival.

The festival September ends with the competition screening of the documentary film "Talk to me" by Marta Prus at 2Annas Film Festival in Latvia.
