Poles at Aye Aye Film Festival

During this year’s edition of Aye Aye Film Festival in Nancy, France, Polish documentary film will be represented in the competition, outside the competition and in the special screening “The Best of Selection”.

“Take A Look” by Adam Palenta has been qualified for the festival’s competition. The film’s protagonists, sightless children, take the viewer for a trip to their world of sensitivity and imagination. Using only the sense of touch, they try to find out what a given picture shows. It turns out that it looks totally different in reality.  The sensitivity of a sightless child is much greater than what a person can see using their eyes.

In a special extra-competition screening, the documentary by Filip Marczewski “Just Like Heaven” will be shown. It tells a story of a Dutch couple who have been living in Poland for two years. They settled down in a desolate place, and now they live in difficult conditions, without modern creature comforts. They dream about building a house and running a farm.

The film by Marcin Sauter “Behind the fence” was specially highlighted by the organizers of the 15th edition of the festival and was featured in the “The Best of Selection” section. It is a set of the best films which have been qualified for the festival since its beginnings.

Festival begins on 5th September and lasts 13 days.
