POLISH FILM ACADEMY AWARDS - EAGLES NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED
The Polish Film Academy has revealed the nominations for the 2026 Polish Film Awards (ORŁY/EAGLES). In the Best Documentary Film category, five distinctive and diverse titles have been selected this year, highlighting the remarkable strength and creative vitality of contemporary Polish documentary cinema.
The Polish Film Awards (ORŁY/EAGLES) have been presented annually by the Polish Film Academy since 1999. The awards were initiated by filmmaker and producer Dariusz Jabłoński. This year’s ceremony will take place on March 9 at the Polish Theatre in Warsaw.
Competing for the Eagle statuette are:
Child of Dust, directed by Weronika Mliczewska (prod. Ya Man Studio)
The Guest, directed by Zuzanna Solakiewicz and Zvika Gregory Portnoy (prod. Plesnar & Krauss FILMS)
Letters from Wolf Street, directed by Arjun Talwar (prod. Uni-Solo Studio)
Silver, directed by Natalia Koniarz (prod. Telemark)
Trains, directed by Maciej J. Drygas (prod. Drygas Film Production)
Documentary filmmakers were also recognized in additional categories this year.
Iga Lis received a nomination in the Discovery of the Year category for her film The Queen and the Smokehouse (prod. Studio Munka, Silver Frame).
Rafał Listopad was nominated for Best Editing for Trains, while Joaquin Garcia earned a nomination for Best Music for Child of Dust.
