POLISH PROJECT AT JI.HLAVA NEW VISIONS CO-PRODUCTION MARKET

Isabella by Joanna Janikowska has been invited to the New Visions Co-production Market at the Ji.Hlava festival.

Ji.hlava New Visions keeps up with new trends in contemporary European film production, hence the openness to various types of non-fiction audiovisual formats. The aim is to create an active hub that connects producers and other professionals to support funding and developing projects, as well as their subsequent promotion and distribution.

Co-production Market provides an opportunity for film professionals accredited to the 27th IDFF Ji.hlava to meet the creators of the selected projects. It will also give the participants of the Co-production Market a chance to find co-producers for their projects.

One of the presented projects is Isabella – directed by Joanna Janikowska and produced by Anna Gawlita. The protagonist of the documentary is Isabella, who knows she is going to die at the age of 93. She only has two years left to save herself and her deteriorating city from oblivion. It is a story about strength of character and a weakening body, steeped in a mystical island landscape of Sardinian hills and magical beliefs.
