“DISTANCES” TO COMPETE AT JIHLAVA

The latest film by Matej Bobrik has been invited to the Opus Bonum International Competition at the Ji.Hlava festival. It will be the film's international premiere.

Ji.hlava International Film Festival is one of the largest documentary film festivals in Central and Eastern Europe. Every year, the Czech city of Jihlava sees numerous industry representatives and viewers arrive to experience interesting cinema.

This year, the new film by Matej Bobrik has been invited to the Opus Bonum competition section. Distances is the story of a migrant family who came to Poland from Nepal. Shiv works as a food delivery courier by day and taxi driver by night. Meanwhile, his teenage son starts school and his wife, increasingly unhappy, sits at home. The boy has adapted to his new environment while his mother dreams of returning to her homeland.  They had been looking for a better life, which –years later – led to misunderstandings and, ultimately, to the family's potential break-up.
