“IMPRISONED” RECEIVES AWARD IN ROMANIA

The film by Piotr Bieliński is coming back from the 26th edition CineMAiubit International Student Short Film Festival in Bucharest with the Paul Calinescu Award for the best documentary.

The CineMAiubit International Student Short Film Festival is an event whose main purpose is to promote student output and enhance relationships between film schools. The festival is organised by the University of Theatre and Film “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest and the CineMAiubit Foundation.

The documentary Imprisoned, produced at the University of Silesia's Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School, has been noticed at this year's edition.

Batory is a boy in a girl's body. We meet him while he is detained at the Warszawa-Grochów Custody Suite for repeatedly riding the municipal train without a ticket and assaulting his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend. Batory walks us through his world – a world of bars and locked rooms.
