A POLISH PROJECT AT THE DOCUMENTARY CAMPUS

We know the list of the projects which will participate in the programme Documentary Campus. Among them, there is also the Polish production "Urban Legend" by Krzysztof Dzieciołowski.

Documentary Campus Masterschool is a European programme of workshops, offering the film-makers access to the international documentary film market. In the workshops participate 15 teams consisting of directors and producers, who spend ten months working on the development of their project under the guidance of the invited industry experts.

This year, a project from Poland was qualified for the programme: "Urban Legend," directed by Krzysztof Dzieciołowski. The protagonist of the documentary film is Jerzy Urban, an extremely controversial figure of Polish politics.

The programme of the workshops consists of three five-day sessions, held in various European cities. The training sessions are dedicated to different aspects of film production, starting from the ways of storytelling and financing, to marketing and distribution. The participants also learn about pitching techniques, which they can later put into practice, participating in the public pitching of projects in front of the commissioning editors of the leading television channels during the Leipzig Networking Days. After the pitching, there is yet another training session, dedicated to creating financial strategies and financing documentary film projects.
