The 35th edition of the International Short Film Festival in Berlin has just started. There is a large representation of Polish short films in the rich programme of the event. And one of the accompanying events is the screening of film etudes by Roman Polański with live music.

The International Short Film Festival Berlin (Interfilm) is one of the most important events in Europe, dedicated entirely to short films. The Interfilm is on the prestigious list of festivals qualifying for the Academy Awards in as many as two categories: short animated films and short feature films. The festival in Berlin can also boast great popularity. Every year, the number of submissions exceeds 7 thousand, out of which 500 films, presented in the extremely rich programme of the event, are selected. 

In addition to the sections dedicated to the German cinematography, there are those devoted to international productions. There is no lack of short documentary films, feature films and animated films. Younger viewers and the enthusiasts of older cinema also have their own sections, and numerous retrospectives and special screenings are prepared for them. This year, one of such events is the screening of the student etudes by Roman Polański with the accompaniment of the duo SzaZa (Paweł Szamburski and Patryk Zakrocki). There will be no lack of Polish short film productions in the international competition, too. The animated films will be represented by "Story" by Jola Bańkowska, "My Strange Elder Brother" by Julia Orlik, "You Are Overreacting" by Karina Paciorkowska, "Squaring the Circle" by Karolina Specht, "Colaholic" by Marcin Podolec, "III" by Marta Pajek, "Tango of Longing" by Marta Szymańska, "The Tebelgeza" by Teresa Wasilewska, "The Hunt" by Mateusz Jarmulski and "The Rain" by Piotr Milczarek. At the German comeptition we will find coproduction "Portrait of Suzanne" by Izabela Plucińska. The feature film "Dregs" by Kordian Kądziela will also compete for the awards, as well as the documentary "In A Lion" by Karol Lindholm.
