WHAT WILL BE SHOWN AT THE FESTIVAL „DOKUMENTART”

19th edition of European Documentary Film Festival “dokumentART” are going to take place in two cities – Szczecin in Poland and Neubrandenburg in Germany. The Polish and German audience will have the opportunity of watching different kinds of documentaries – documentaries that reflect not only filmmakers output from neighbouring countries but also from all Europe.

Every year “dokumentART” presents the films that chronicle changes between the tradition and the avantgarde, that touch and cross a border of genre, that are created by filmmakers still unknown on the European stage. What extraordinary is that the festival offers the meetings and discussions with filmmakers as well as the screenings of the films that have not been shown yet anywhere.

The base of the festival is the competition program. The following Polish documentaries qualified for this year’s “dokumentART”:

* “Six Weeks” by Marcin Janos Krawczyk

* “Chasm” by Wojciech Kasperski

* “Plain Landscape with a Crandle” by Arkadiusz Biedrzycki

* “The Swimming pool” by Krzysztof Nowicki

* “Flightless Birds” by Michał Dawidowicz

What is more, the festival “dokumentART” prepared a lot of additional screenings and events, for instance:

- Leni Riefenstahl’s film retrospective

- Paweł Łoziński’s film retrospective

- Cinema forum from Central and Eastern Europe

- Student films from Silesia University in Katowice in Poland

- Video art screenings

- telefonART – screenings of films made with mobile phones

- Slam Video Show – screenings of independent and amateurs films

19th edition of European Documentary Film Festival “dokumentART” will be held from 8th to 13th of October in Szczecin (Poland) and Neubrandenburg (Germany).
