DEEP LOVE AND STARTING POINT AWARDED AT DOCUDAYS

12th edition of the Docudays festival in Kiev ended on March 26. The main award in short documentary film competition went to "Starting Point", while honorary diploma in the DOCU/LIFE section was given to "Deep Love".

The programme of the Docudays festival includes films about human rights. The films compete with each other in three categories: DOCU/LIFE, DOCU/RIGHT and DOCU/SHORT, and they also compete for the student jury award and the audience award.

In the DOCU/SHORT category, the film "Starting Point" by Michał Szcześniak won the main award. The jury appreciated the documentary for showing in film the uncertainty of character and special connection with soulmate, who inspires to find a meaning of life again.

In the section DOCU/LIFE, the Honorary Diploma went to the documentary film "Deep Love" by Jan P. Matuszyński. The jury awarded the film for a beautiful depiction of the fight within and the struggle between following your passion and considering others. According to the award-givers, in this film the director has managed to capture the complex relationship between two people in love, as well as painting a nuanced picture of the process of rehabilitation.
