21 projects qualified for the DOC LAB POLAND 2019 - a programme for documentary film-makers. Among the participants there are, among others, the director Michał Szcześniak, whose award-winning "Starting Point" was included on the 2015 Academy Awards shortlist, Rafael Lewandowski, known for his feature film entitled "The Mole," Leszek Gnoiński, the creator of the television show "The History of Polish Rock" and Natalia Grzegorzek, the producer of the films "A Coach's Daughter" and "Kamper". The first session starts on the 1st of April in the Centrum Łowicka in Warsaw.
On 10 March another edition of Thessaloniki Documentary Festival ended in Greece. Paweł Ziemilski's film "In Touch" came back from the festival with an award.
On 11 March the programme of the Swiss festival Visions du Réel was announced. Michał Bielawski's film "The Wind. A Documentary Thriller" was invited to the International Feature Film Competition.
Weronika Bilska, Vita Drygas, Jolanta Dylewska, Magdalena Kowalczyk, Hanna Polak, Małgorzata Szyłak – the Polish camerawomen without whom it is difficult to imagine contemporary documentaries, just to mention such titles, as Close Ties (2016) by Zofia Kowalewska, Piano (2016) by Vita Drygas, Po-Lin: Slivers of Memory (2008) by Jolanta Dylewska, The Whistle (2013) by Grzegorz Zariczny, Something Better to Come (2015) by Hanna Polak, Communion (2016) by Anna Zamecka.
