POLISH CO-PRODUCTION “KUBRICK BY KUBRICK” NOMINATED FOR EMMY
The list of productions nominated for the International Emmy Awards has been announced. The French-Polish documentary “Kubrick by Kubrick” directed by Gregory Monro is among the selected titles.
The International Emmy Award is bestowed by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to reward the best television programs produced and originally aired outside the United States. The first awards were given in 1969.
This year, the Academy acknowledged the French-Polish documentary about the outstanding filmmaker Stanley Kubrick. “Kubrick by Kubrick” by Gregory Monro has been nominated in the Art Programming category. The film is a unique recording of an interview with the excellent director. Kubrick rarely gave interviews. He did not like to explain his films, and he was not particularly fond of the media, hence a certain aura of mystery surrounding the silent filmmaker. Polish co-producer of the film is Telemark.
