POLISH PRODUCTIONS RECEIVE AWARDS IN PORTUGAL

Two awards for the Damian Kocur's drama “Beyond is the Day”, an award for the Polish-Lebanese “Son of the Streets” by Mohammed Almughanni, and a special mention for Gosia Juszczak's documentary “Stolen Fish” are the souvenirs from FIKE – Festival Internacional de Curtas-Metragens de Évora that ended last weekend.

FIKE – Festival Internacional de Curtas-Metragens de Évora is a Portugese festival entirely dedicated to short films. The event was launched in 2001, when the city of Évora began to compete for the title of the European capital of culture. The festival is perfectly integrated into the cultural fabric of the city, offering its audience excellent international short documentaries, animated films, and dramas.

The festival program also included Polish productions. The title of best fiction went to Damian Kocur. The lead actor from “Beyond is the Day” received a diploma for best acting performance. In turn, the Polish-Lebanese production “Son of the Streets” by Mohammed Almughanni was named the best short documentary. A special mention also went to Gosia Juszczak's documentary “Stolen Fish”.
