“MAN OF MARBLE” PROJECT AT ROUGH-CUT PITCH
The project of the Polish-Slovenian documentary was invited to the Rough-Cuy Pitch, an event organised by DocsBarcelona Industry. The title made it to the final four.
The DocsBarcelona festival in the second half of May is accompanied by multiple events aimed at professionals. One of them is an event for creators seeking funding for their productions. Films in development, pre-production, production, as well as those ready for post-production but still requiring significant financial contributions can all be submitted.
Only four most interesting projects make it to the Rough Cut section. Their participants attend an hour-long consultation, pitch session, and individual meetings with experts.
Man of Marble is a bittersweet story about love and struggle. Remik is fighting for the love of Magda and their son Franek while facing alcohol addiction. Magda – his ex-partner and a very young mother – has to grow up quickly to look after their baby. Together, will they manage to break out of the family's vicious cycle of alcohol addiction and give Franek a better life? Katarzyna Kuca and Aneta Zagórska from the Krakow Film Cluster are producing the film.
