POLISH REPRESENTATION AT NORDISK PANORAMA FORUM

Polish delegation and as many as two domestic documentary projects selected for pitching at this year's Nordisk Panorama Forum. The event will take place in the second half of September.

Nordisk Panorama Forum is a major Nordic documentary film funding event, held continuously since 1994. The forum is open to projects at all stages of production. However, the country of production is a limitation. Only productions or co-productions from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland, the Faroe or Åland Islands, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia may apply.

Each year, the organisers invite a special delegation from a selected country. Poland has received this honour for the second time in history. The Polish Docs PRO delegation, which will include producers and directors developing documentaries and short films, is organised by the Krakow Film Foundation. The initiative is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage, and Sport.

The delegation will include 10 Polish documentary film producers who will have the opportunity to participate in Producers meets Producers – co-production meetings with partners from the Nordic region allowing to present their achievements and new projects. Producers attending the Forum will get the opportunity to network with over 40 representatives of Scandinavian film funds, TV stations, film institutes, or distribution companies.

The following projects have been selected for the Polish Docs PRO delegation:

The documentary produced by Haka Films tells the story of the eponymous 8-year-old Lilia – who divides her life between her two parents. This situation leads the girl to reflect a lot on the adult world. Two years ago the production won the HBO Award at the Krakow Film Festival during the 5th edition of DOC LAB POLAND, and last year the director presented the documentary at the IDFA Forum.

In turn “Trust Me”, directed by Joanna Ratajczak, tells the story of a couple who have been together for 15 years. One day Sebastian approaches his wife with a rather surprising proposal. The man would like their relationship to open up to other partners. Alicia agrees to such an experiment in the name of love. The film was produced by Stanisław Zaborowski from Silver Frame.
