"STARTING POINT" WITH HONOURABLE MENTION AT ENCOUNTERS

On September 20 ended the 21st edition of Encounters Short Film & Animation Festival. "Starting Point" by Michał Szcześniak was awarded with the Honourable Mention.

This year, during Encounters Short Film & Animation Festival, 230 films from 35 countries of the world were shown. 170 nominated film-makers came to Bristol, where they participated in screenings and industry events. At the festival, one can watch films no longer than 30 minutes.

"Starting Point" by Michał Szcześniak was given the Honorary Special Mention in the documentary film category. The film tells the story of Aneta, who rebelled when she was 19 years old. She went to prison for murder. Nine years later, doing time she starts working as a carer. Every day, she leaves the prison walls to go to the rest home and take care of   Ms Helena, suffering from rheumatism. The conversations with her charge make Aneta aware how much she has in life and let her believe in herself and face the difficult trial which awaits her.
