POLISH STAND AT SUNNY SIDE OF THE DOC MARKET

On 22nd June the 26th International Documentary Film Market Sunny Side of the Doc starts in French town of La Rochelle. It is one of the largest industry events dedicated to documentary film, which is annually visited by the representatives of the most important television channels, distributors and film producers from the entire world. Poles present their works there already for the ninth time.

As every year, Poland is among the exhibitors in La Rochelle. The national exhibition POLISH DOCS, organised by Krakow Film Foundation,  for the eighth time presents the latest Polish documentaries to the foreign film industry. Polish stand gives chance to film producers and distributors present in La Rochelle to offer their films and projects. These include the representatives of the following companies: Telemark, Endorfina Studio, ZK Films, Film Studio Kalejdoskop, Film Studio Largo, BMC Film, Touch Films, Wajda Studio, Plesnar and Krauss Films, AMP Polska, Impakt Film, Colab Pictures and Cracow Film Society. At the stand, the representatives of  TVP, TVN and  Krakow Film Festival are also present.

Sunny Side of the Doc is one of the most important events dedicated to support the documentary film industry in Europe. The market offers the opportunity of comprehensive promotion of film productions (beginning with presenting the projects in the production phase and ending with the promotion of finished films). It is the meeting place of producers, festival organisers, distributors and representatives of television channels who are responsible for the sale and purchase of the rights to documentary films. Accredited producers and film professionals also have a unique opportunity to participate in numerous seminars, meetings, training sessions and discussion panels dealing with the latest issues related to documentary film production in the world.

For several years the organizers of Sunny Side (by organising two twin editions Latin Side of the Doc and Asian Side of the Doc) enable the documentary filmmakers from Europe to have access to Asian and South-American film markets. Under the label “Sunny Side Goes Wild”, the 26th edition is designed to strengthen partnerships between international producers, along with global buyers and distributors, focusing on the linear and interactive documentaries which push back the limits of the genre in history, science, natural history and transmedia.
