SILVER WORLD MEDAL AT NEW YORK FESTIVALS FOR “ENTANGLED” BY LIDIA DUDA

After the Golden Hobby-Horse at 52nd Krakow Film Festival and the Best Director Award at One World Film Festival in Prague the time for the Silver World Medal has come – the film “Entangled” by Lidia Duda has been awarded at New York Festivals in the International TV and Films Competition.

New York Festivals is a festival of radio and television productions that celebrates its 56th edition this year. On Tuesday, April 9th, the award winners of International TV and Films Competition were announced at the gala held in Las Vegas. The film “Entangled” directed by Lidia Duda and produced by Telemark and Polish broadcaster TVP has been awarded the Silver World Medal in the Television - Documentary/Information Program category.

The film by Lidia Duda deals with the problem of pedophilia in case of which  the definition of the perpetrator and the victim is not crystal clear. This unambiguous relationship may, however, become blurry after some time. As a child, the film character was abused by his neighbor. Later, as a teenager, he tried to take revenge on him twice. The roles are now reversed: the pedophile is afraid of his victim. This mutual dependence, which lasted ten years, is presented from the perspective of the closest persons to both men. The story based on hatred and fear seems to have no end.
