WOJCIECH STAROŃ'S DOCUMENTARY NOMINATED FOR SPOTLIGHT AWARD

In January 2013, in New York the award ceremony of the Cinema Eye Honors, given to the best documentary productions, will take place. In the Spotlight Award category, "Argentinian lesson" by Wojciech Staroń is among the nominees.

"Argentinian lesson" received the nomination for the Cinema Eye Honors award in the Spotlight Award category, created with those films in thought, which are very good, but largely unknown to a wider audience, and which deserve more attention. Previously, the awards in this category went to: "Beetle Queen conquers Tokyo" by Jessica Oreck (2010), "The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu" by Andrei Ujica (2011) and "The tiniest place" by Tatiana Huezo Sánchez (2012).

The Cinema Eye Honors awards have been given to the best documentary films since 2008. To be nominated for this award, the film must be shown at one of the following film festivals: Sundance, Berlin, True/False, SXSW, Full Frame, Tribeca, Hot Docs, Cannes, Silverdocs, Los Angeles, Toronto, Sheffield and IDFA. The candidates for the Cinema Eye Honors award are selected every year by the representatives of large documentary festivals, and the winners are chosen every year by about 200 documentary branch representatives who are invited to vote by Cinema Eye.
