This DVD, intended to be issued regularly in the future, includes a selection of the most recent documentaries made in Poland in 2009 and 2010 by artists with great potential that have just begun to receive international recognition among critics and audiences. POLISH DOCS 2010 provides an overview of contemporary Polish documentary productions beginning with award-winning Chemo directed by Paweł Łoziński, considered an almost-classic, and Marcin Janos Krawczyk’s Six Weeks, the best short documentary of IDFA 2009. Other interesting pictures include Let’s Run Away From Her, the latest work of controversial director Marcin Koszałka, and H2O, yet another consistent example of observation cinema by Tomasz Wolski. The list is completed with films made by young graduates or even students of Film Schools in Łódź, Warsaw and Katowice, such as Oh God, Dear God... by Julia Popławska, A Screening at the Tatry Cinema by Igor Chojna, That’s Life by Daniel Zieliński, The Dog Hill by Grzegorz Zariczny, Out of Reach by Jakub Stożek and Lovers by Rafał Skalski, which all testify to the inimitable cinematographic sensitivity of their creators.
