POLISH PROJECTS AT EAST DOC PLATFORM 2020

On March 7th the East Doc Platform - film industry event supporting the production of documentary films in different stages of development - will begin. This year Polish projects are present in two programmes: East European Forum and East Doc Market.

The East Doc Platform is a documentary industry event organised by the Institute of Documentary Film in Prague, alongside the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.

The 8th edition of the event will take place between March 7-13, 2020. Many awards will be handed out during the event. They will go to the best projects in the development chosen from all the projects taking part in the East Doc Platform.

This year four Polish projects entered the East Doc Platform events.

EAST DOC FORUM

The East Doc Forum is an event created for film producers who work on the projects in development or early production and want to secure funding. The East Doc Forum is preceded by a 5-day preparatory workshop, and includes the central pitch, 'one-to-one' meetings and discussions.

21 projects were invited to this year's edition. Among the selected productions there are two from Poland:

EAST DOC MARKET

The East Doc Market is a two days long market created to give documentary filmmakers an opportunity to meet various decision makers, including film festival representatives, broadcasters, film funders, distributors, etc. It consist of previously arranged 'one-to-one' meetings and is open for film projects in any stage of development.

This year 17 projects were invited to the East Doc Market, including three Polish productions and co-productions:

The Pawnshop, dir. Łukasz Kowalski, prod. Anna Mazerant, Łukasz Kowalski, 4.30 STUDIO, PL

 

What is more, as every year, Polish documentaries will be available in the East Silver Market videolibrary.
