POSTE RESTANTE

Church bells ring over a beautiful world of harmony which is underpinned with emptiness. Something is missing here. Is it sense? Or an aim? Or bonding? This documentary, which seemingly resembles an educational movie about the post, shows what happens to the letters without address sent to the persons who do not exist. Among them there is one on which a child’s hand has written ‘God. Heaven.’ The letters end up in the Department of Unsent Mail in Koluszki.

Ur. 1940 w Paryżu. Absolwent Wydziału Reżyserii Łódzkiej Szkoły Filmowej. Autor wielu znakomitych filmów dokumentalnych, m.in.: Wizyta (1974), Zderzenie czołowe (1975), Jak żyć (1977), Próba mikrofonu (1980), Ćwiczenia warsztatowe (1984), Wszystko może się przytrafić (1995), Żeby nie bolało (1998), Jak to się robi (2006). Nominowany do nagrody Europejskiej Akademii Filmowej oraz do Oscara za film dokumentalny 89 mm od Europy (1993). Od czterech lat kieruje kursem dokumentalnym w Mistrzowskiej Szkole Reżyserii Filmowej Andrzeja Wajdy.
