GROWING UP

Over the course of five years, we follow the coming-of-age of a teenage boxer who dreams of winning the Polish junior championship title. The boxing ring serves as a metaphor for a struggle that extends well beyond the sport – a fight for independence, personal identity, and the courage to experience youth on one’s own terms.

We accompany the protagonist through singular, life-defining moments: moving away from home to attend a top-tier boxing academy over 500 kilometers away, the blossoming of a new romance, and the grueling training sessions that come at the cost of a typical childhood.

„Growing Up” offers an insightful look at the maturation process – navigating the space between dreams, mental and physical pain, and fleeting moments of happiness. It is a film about a battle that begins long before stepping into the ring, at a very young age.
