HARBOUR OF HOPE

POLISH TITLE: PORT NADZIEI

Towards the end of the Second World War Sweden became a shelter for thousands of former prisoners of concentration camps. Here, in a port town of Malmö, in the care of the Red Cross, they recovered after the experience of concentration camps. Former volunteers and former prisoners, now scattered all over the world, recollect that time. Their stories are accompanied by shocking archive materials showing the first moments of the prisoners in ‘the harbor of hope.’ For many survivors the nightmare has not finished yet.
