“UNSPOKEN” WINS AWARD IN MEXICO

Maciej Adamek’s feature-length documentary "Unspoken" has secured another international award. This time the production was named Best Documentary Film at the International Film Festival with Alternative Media (FICMA) in Mexico. The 2025 edition of the festival ran from 11-22 November.

It marks the second accolade for the film in quick succession. Only recently, in November, Maciej Adamek received an award at a festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Now, the documentary has also impressed the jury of the Mexican event, which champions new modes of storytelling and innovation in film production. FICMA is a pioneering event on Mexico’s cultural map, blending cinema, technology, and creative experimentation. The festival highlights audiovisual projects created using unconventional tools — from smartphones and drones to advanced action cameras – alongside technologies such as virtual reality, digital animation, and artificial intelligence. Its mission is to support new talent and foster the development of transmedia narratives, VR work, and innovative formats of distribution.

"Unspoken" is an intimate portrait of 26-year-old Mateusz – a young man who stutters and decides to pursue his childhood dream of becoming Poland’s acrobatics champion.
