POLISH DOCUMENTARY FILMS AT DOCSMX

On October 13, starts the new edition of the festival DocsMX in Mexico. In the programme, there are as many as nine Polish documentary films.

The festival DocsMX is one of the most important documentary film festivals in Central America. Until now, the festival was known as DocsDF - Festival Internacional de Cine Documental de la Ciudad de México, however, after ten editions the organisers decided it is time to start writing a new chapter in the history of the festival, beginning with the change of its name.

Nine Polish films are invited to the 11th edition of the festival. In the section "Around the cities," there is the film "21 x New York City" by Piotr Stasik, as well as "The End of the World" by Monika Pawluczuk. Within the frames of the screenings "Breaking docs," the festival audience will watch "Alisa in Warland," directed by Alisa Kovalenko and Lubova Durakova, while "Casa Blanca" by Aleksandra Maciuszek went to the section Doctubre Ib. "K2. Touching the Sky" by Eliza Kubarska will be one of the special screenings at DocsMX.

Short documentary films will also appear in Mexico. The films "Snails" by Grzegorz Szczepaniak and "Cheerleaders" by Sławomir Witek are included in the section DoctubreMX.  The animation "A Documentary Film" by Marcin Podolec and "Habitat" by Arjur Talwar and Oliver Krüger will be shown in the programme "Fragments."

It is worthwhile to mention that the film "21 x New York City" will have its international première in Mexico. On this occasion, we invite you to read the interview with Piotr Stasik in our Reading Room. We would also like to remind you that this documentary film was included on the list of 15 documentary films recommended for European Film Award.

The full list of films shown in Mexico is on the website of DocsMX.
