POLISH SHORT FILMS AT COURT C’EST COURT FESTIVAL
Tomorrow in French Cabrieres d’Avignon the 21st edition of the Court c’est Court Short Film Festival will open. This year the organizers invited Krakow Film Foundation to share a Polish short film programme with the festival’s audience and guests.
It has now become almost a tradition that Polish films are present in the festival’s programme nearly each year. The festival has a competitive character and it is the audience who decides which films is awarded. This year another Polish film – “Father’s day” by Kacper Lisowski – will stand a chance of becoming the audience favorite. Additionally, an animated “Baths” by Tomek Ducki will form a part of the animated film programme.
The Polish programme – that will be presented by Krakow Film Foundation’s representative Marta Świątek – features seven films - the numerously awarded documentaries - “Written in ink” by Martin Rath and “Rogalik” by Paweł Ziemilski, two fiction shorts – “All souls’ day” by Aleksandra Terpińska and “Drawn from memory” by Marcin Bortkiewicz and animations – “What happens when children don’t eat soup” by Paweł Prewencki, “Gallery“ by Robert Proch and “Paper box” by Zbigniew Czapla. The screenings will be held on 20th and 22nd November.
This is what the organizers noted on Polish cinema in the catalogue: Polish films participate significantly in the heritage of world cinema with very solid scripts, great importance given to framing, a blurred boundary between documentary and fiction as well as a deep sense of absurd.
Festival Court c’est court will start tomorrow and will last until Sunday 23rd November.
