POLAND - THE SPECIAL GUEST AT THE FESTIVAL DOC AVIV

On 8 May, the International Documentary Film Festival Doc Aviv starts in Tel Aviv. This year, Poland is the festival's special guest. On this occasion, six Polish documentary films will be shown in Tel Aviv.

Doc Aviv is the largest film festival in Tel Aviv and the only festival in Israel, dedicated only to documentary cinema. Every year, about 90 documentary films from around the world are screened within the frames of the festival. This year, Doc Aviv is organised for the sixteenth time.

Poland was invited to this year's edition of the festival as a special guest. Thanks to this, the Israeli audience will have the opportunity to see the Polish Programme, within the frames of which the following films will be shown:

- "Sometimes I Dream I'm Flying" by  Aneta Popiel-Machnicka
- "Sati" by Bartek Świderski
- "Rogalik" by Paweł Ziemilski
- "A Visit" by Matej Bobrik
- "Seven Men At Different Ages" by  Sławomir Witek

After the screening, there will be a meeting with the directors present at the festival (Aneta Popiel-Machnicka, Sławomir Witek, Bartek Świderski, Paweł Ziemilski) and a presentation prepared by Krakow Film Foundation "Shorts are cool. Financing, production, promotion and distribution of Polish short documentary films." The presentation will be conducted by Katarzyna Wilk, the Project Coordinator of Polish Docs.

Additional event will be the screening of the film "Art of Disappearing" by Bartek Konopka and Piotr Rosołowski. After the screening, there will be a meeting with one of the film's directors, Bartek Konopka, and the editor Andrzej Dąbrowski, called "The Outlines of the Genre," the subject of which will be how two film genres - feature and documentary film permeate each other. Also, Israeli filmmakers and journalists will take part in the meeting.
