PAWEŁ WYSOCZAŃSKI AWARDED IN HUNGARY

'We Will Be Happy One Day', a film by Paweł Wysoczański, won the award for Best Documentary at the Jameson CineFest International Film Festival which ended on Saturday in Miskolc, Hungary.

Last Saturday, in the Hungarian city of Miskolc the 10th edition of the Jameson CineFest International Film Festival came to a close. One of the award-winning films was a documentary by Paweł Wysoczański 'We Will Be Happy One Day'. The jury had decided to award it the prize for Best Documentary which was sponsored by Miskolc Auto Ltd.

'We Will Be Happy One Day' tells the story of a boy living in the poorest city district in the region of Silesia – Lipiny. The boy, Daniel Furmaniak, wishes to live his life off the grid. He sets off to shoot a film about his district with using his mobile phone. He asks his peers about their dreams. About who they want to be in the future. Will they ever get the chance to make dreams come true? Or perhaps the reality will be harsh on their plans? Does it even make sense to dream? Wysoczański's documentary has already gained recognition at international festivals – it was awarded at the Documenta Madrid in Spain, Docudays in Ukraine or at the Reykjavik Shorts&Docs Festival.

The International Film Festival in Miskolc is one of the most important events of the kind in Hungary. Apart from the documentary competition, the programme also includes feature film competition, short and experimental film competition and animation competition. This year's edition of the festival was dedicated to István Szabó, who celebrates his 75th birthday in 2013.
