“BACEWICZ X BOMSORI” BY JAKUB PIĄTEK WINS AN AWARD AT A FESTIVAL IN FRANCE

The short documentary “Bacewicz x Bomsori”, directed by Jakub Piątek, received the Best Documentary Film Award at the 17th edition of ONE Country ONE Film in France.

The festival is dedicated to cultural exchange between countries. Its selection is primarily guided by the diversity of the films’ countries of origin, with each country generally represented by a single title serving as its cinematic showcase. Each year, the organisers also spotlight one selected country, presenting a broader programme of its cinema.

“Bacewicz x Bomsori” tells the story of the outstanding South Korean violinist Bomsori Kim, as she prepares to perform Grażyna Bacewicz’s Polish Rhapsody for Violin and Orchestra live at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław on 7 March 2025. In discovering the piece, the violinist also comes to a deeper understanding of the composer herself.

The film portrays the rediscovery of forgotten musical works and their return to the stage. “Bacewicz x Bomsori” is an intimate portrait of a concert violinist and musician who gives a great deal of herself in the name of art and music.

The film is produced by PWM and Telemark and its international festival distribution and sales are handled by KFF Sales.
