POLISH DOCUMENTARIES AT INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS IN DECEMBER
The film festival season is slowly coming to an end in December, but there are still several events left where Polish documentaries are going to be featured. Our films will be screened at BOGOSHORTS in Colombia, the Cottbus festival in Germany, or the Greek Docs in Exile. Check out which documentary productions are going to be screened at festivals this month.
The beginning of the month is a promising one for Marcin Polar’s short documentary. “The Tough” will be shown at the French Autrans International Mountain Film Festival, the 13th BBK MENDI FILM Bilbao-Bizkaia Festival in Spain, and at the end of the month also at Febiofest Bratislava in Slovakia, where Grzegorz Paprzycki’s “My Country So Beautiful” is also one of the contestants.
Katarzyna Warzecha’s animated documentary is going to have two screenings at the beginning of December. “We Have One Heart” is visiting Sommets du cinéma d’animation in Canada and BOGOSHORTS in Colombia. At the latter festival, the jurors are also going to review Julia Pełka’s “Fat Kathy”.
The 17th edition of International Festival-Workshop of Film Schools Kinoproba will be held at the beginning of December. “Breathe” by Daria Kasperek is one of the contenders at the Russian festival. The documentary was also invited to the Docs in Exile festival in Greece. In addition to Kasperek’s film, the local audience can also expect “The Vibrant Village” by Weronika Jurkiewicz.
Kinoproba isn’t the only Russian film event held in December and featuring a Polish documentary. Maciej Cuske’s “The Whale from Lorino” is competing at Artdoc Fest, while the audience and jurors of the International Documentary Film Festival Flahertiana are going to watch Jarosław Szmidt’s “Butterfly’s Dream”.
FilmFestival Cottbus is finally scheduled to start in the second week of December. Emilia Śniegoska’s “19:91” is going to be featured in the competition program, while Tomasz Wolski’s “An Ordinary Country” in the non-competition one.
