POLISH PROJECT AT SOFIA MEETINGS

"LOVE LAND", directed by Viktoria Marinov, produced by Entertain Pictures, is the only project from Poland to participate in the Sofia Meetings co-production meetings that had just recently started. This full-length hybrid project is being developed with the support of the Polish Film Institute.

Sofia Meetings is one of the largest co-production markets in the region. Projects in the sections: Second Film Projects, Plus Minus One Projects, Projects in Bank and First Films First will take part in pitchings and individual meetings during the event lasting several days (July 3-8), which takes place online due to the pandemic.

The protagonist of "LOVE LAND" is Viktoria, a Pole with Bulgarian roots, who sets off on a journey through the Balkans to understand the magnetism that attracts people to the province of Bulgaria and to which she herself succumbs. The project previously participated in the international Structural Constellations program in Austria and France.

The creators of the film

Viktoria Marinov is a film director and photographer of Polish-Bulgarian origin. In 2005, she graduated from directing and the Cinematography Department at the National Academy of Theater and Film. K. Sarafov in Sofia. She is the author of documentaries and short fiction films awarded at international festivals. Her short film "SOFIA - BRUSSELS - SOFIA" was a Bulgarian candidate for the student Oscar. She was born and raised in Poland. At the age of nineteen she left for Bulgaria to study and since then her heart has been beating with a double rhythm.

Małgorzata Wabińska is a creative producer, Berlinale Talent 2020. Awarded for Best Producing Debut in 2019, nominated for the Polish Film Academy Awards. A graduate of the Łódź Film School and the Program for Creative Producers at the Wajda School. Participant of The Goes to Cannes, EAVE Marketing and EURODOC programs. Since 2015, she has been running his own production company Entertain Pictures based Łódź.
