Arjun Talwar grew up in Bombay, leaving to study Mathematics at Stanford University. While working as a cartoonist for a newspaper in Tbilisi, Georgia during the 2008 conflict with Russia, he began taking pictures. This led him to film. He has just graduated with an MA in cinematography from the Polish Film School in Lodz.
