Abu Haraz is a small village in the middle of the desert in North Sudan. The construction of a huge dam on the Nile has interfered with the age-old, natural rhythm of the lives of its residents. The filmmakers have spent several years with them, observing their vain attempts to turn back fate…

ur. 1956 w Łodzi. Scenarzysta i reżyser filmów dokumentalnych. Po ukończeniu w 1981 roku studiów na wydziale reżyserii moskiewskiego WGIK był asystentem Krzysztofa Zanussiego i Krzysztofa Kieślowskiego. Autor dokumentów: Falstart (1981), Psychoterapia (1984), Usłyszcie mój krzyk (1991), Stan nieważkości (1994), Głos nadziei (2002), Jeden dzień w PRL (2005). Laureat licznych nagród festiwalowych, m.in. w Bombaju,Houston, Tai Pei, Monte Carlo, San Francisco, Nyon i Krakowie. Obecnie jest wykładowcą w PWSFTviT w Łodzi.
