GRZEGORZ PACEK’S “THE PETER PLAN”SELECTED FOR THE INTERNATIONAL SOUND & FILM MUSIC FESTIVAL

“The Peter Plan”, directed by Grzegorz Pacek, has been selected for the International Sound & Film Music Festival in the Best Sound Mixing / Best Sound Editing category. The festival will take place from 21 to 24 May and is considered one of the three largest and most important events in the world dedicated to film sound and film music.

This is a particularly significant recognition, also because of the prestigious company in which Pacek’s film has found itself. This year’s selection includes, among others, the Oscar-winning Sinners, One Battle After Another, the widely discussed SIRÂT, and Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning. The presence of The Peter Plan in such a line-up highlights the film’s artistic and technical strength, especially in its approach to sound.

The International Sound & Film Music Festival promotes awareness of the importance of music and sound as irreplaceable elements of cinematic language. It also brings visibility to audiovisual professions involved in composing music, sound design, sound editing and sound mixing, recognising their crucial role in shaping the emotional and dramatic force of cinema.

The Peter Plan tells the story of a man suffering from a severe case of electromagnetic hypersensitivity. Any contact with electricity, even using a mobile phone, causes him pain. Unable to continue living in a world bound by electromagnetic waves, he leaves his hometown, cuts ties with his family and society, and sets out deeper and deeper into the wilderness in search of a safe place to live. Gradually, he becomes an outcast, living on the margins of contemporary civilisation.
